Hi, it´s Dawn Billings, and the wonderful Heart Link team. We wanted to answer some of the most frequently asked questions and concerns asked by new potential Area Coordinators regarding owning a licensed territory for the Heart Link Network®.

FAQ´s of potential Area Coordinators

  • Is The Heart Link Network® a business opportunity?
  • The Heart Link Network was never designed to be a business at all. It was designed as a marketing and networking tool to help you promote the business you already have and love. Marketing and advertising your business can be expensive. The Heart Link Network was designed to give you a unique way to advance your business and all but eliminate some of your marketing and networking expenses.  The investment to become a Heart Link Area Coordinator, while minimal, is offset by your participant’s small attendance fees. This tool gives you a way to explode your business, introduce yourself to great women in your community, be of service to others and leave a legacy of goodness because of your efforts.

  • Why is The Heart Link Network® the best and most cost effective way to market my business?
  • As we mention above, one of our biggest expenses in running a business is marketing.   Radio, newspaper ads, networking memberships, chamber events, trade shows etc. can cost you a fortune! You could spend anywhere from $500 to $1500 to join other groups and associations with very little to show for your investment. That is why we created The Heart Link Network®. It allows you to powerfully, intelligently and intimately publicize your business for little financial out put from you. Your attendees are able to present their businesses for a small charge to attend. Those attendance fees go to you and help to cover the costs of putting on the event as well as the Heart Link Coordinator location fee.

  • How is the HLN networking model different than other networking models?
  • When you attend other networking groups, like the chamber of commerce, or BNI, you get one minute or sometimes 30 SECONDS to share what it is that you do. It is easy to get "lost in the crowd". As a Heart Link Coordinator you are the host, not just one of many participants. All eyes are on you! Also, you get to hand select the women who attend your events!  So you always know what to expect.

    Traditional networking events are built on a male model which is interruption marketing and does not lend itself well to developing the deep relationships necessary in today´s market.  The Heart Link Network® was specifically designed to meet the needs of female entrepreneurs by creating an environment that is warm, inviting, effective, non-threatening, and fun! It is a networking tool that allows you to invite instead of interrupt potential future customers. Women nation-wide have raved about the difference in the feel, fun and effectiveness of The Heart Link Network®.

  • Why is networking vital to my business?
  • Success does not depend on what you know, or who you know. In today´s market place the most important thing is "WHO KNOWS YOU!" That is why being a part of The Heart Link Network® outshines the rest.  Our Area Coordinators are recognized leaders and offer a valuable service to women. You become a stand out in your community, you give women a resource they desperately need and you get to market your business, all at the same time. Successful business owners network so that they can meet people and expose others to their products and services.

  • Do new women come each month or is it the same people each time?
  • Area Coordinators report they have about 50% returning guests and 50% new attendees each month. The Heart Link Network® requires no membership for the attendees. They are free to attend once or come back as often as they like. This keeps the gatherings familiar, yet fresh and exciting. It provides a great deal of flexibility to women who want to return and bring their friends next month!

  • How many women should I expect monthly?
  • Some of our Area Coordinators consistently have 30 to 35 women at their gatherings; others have 15 to 25 women. It totally depends on you and your personality and the effort you want to put in developing your event. The larger gatherings are exciting but may be a little less intimate; with 15 to 20 women, it will allow extra time to create more personal bonds. Both kinds of gatherings have their benefits. Some of our Coordinators even host 2 events a month to serve the women in their area. It is up to you. Find the size that fits your personality and community and it will work like a charm. It is a model that depends on the care and effort you give it, exactly like your business. It is like exercise equipment, it works GREAT if you actively use it!

  • What if I don´t know how to network?
  • Don´t worry. The Heart Link team is ready to train you!  We teach you exactly what to do to open your Heart to your community. The Heart Link Network® can become the training arm for you as well as your business associates.  The Heart Link provides tele-classes, one on one coaching, and scores of written, recorded and video training material.

The Benefits of being an Area Coordinator

  • Creates a Warm Market and Increases your Circle of Influence!
  • Most of the time, once we have burned through our warm market of friends and family, we have no where to go. We are forced to move into a "Male" model of marketing called "interruption marketing". We attempt to get people´s attention by interrupting the at the grocery store, outside of restrauants, hair salons, or worse, cold calls. Interruption marketing, although it has been the dominant model of marketing since the 50´s, no longer works.

    People dislike being interrupted. They have TiVO to get past commercials; they listen to satellite radio, sign up to be on NO call lists so that their home time cannot be interrupted. People are bombarded with information and they have learned to despise "interruption." We designed The Heart Link Network based on "Permission Marketing" instead of "interruption marketing." The Heart Link Network was created to allow the Area Coordinator to network in a way that is comfortable, familiar and natural for them, continually creating for a new warm market each month. Word of mouth is the best marketing you can have. The Heart Link Network insures that many more mouths are singing your praises!

  • Build a strong resource and data base.
  • Each month, the Area Coordinator is motivated and inspired to do the networking their business requires except The Heart Link Network is vastly different. We discovered that most women are not good at “campaigning” for themselves. They will rave about others with ease, they will help others in an instant, but “pushing themselves” is difficult and uncomfortable. Women are designed hormonally and emotionally to be givers. The Heart Link Network is first and foremost about giving. ALL women have an opportunity to share what they love most about their businesses with other women who actually CARE and pay ATTENTION. Attention is one of the most valuable resources in today's world. Inspiring women to pay theirs to you is an art that The Heart Link Network makes delightful and simple. Because there is no membership for The Heart Link Network, we have discovered that at each month's gathering one-third, to one half of the women are new, mixing and mingling with the women who are veterans of the Heat Link Network. This keeps a continual excitement and energy about the gatherings as well as, continues to grow and expand your data base.

  • To add value to your existing networking efforts.
  • Many women are attempting to promote their businesses without many positive results. They are putting themselves out there, only to find that they are being rejected.
